Everything is in place for the 20th 2012 Sunraysia Golf Tours Tri-State Masters.The first round hits off at the Mildura Golf Resort on Monday. The second leg will now be hosted by the Red Cliffs Golf Club on Wednesday after it became apparent that Riverside Golf Club were not in a position to host the round as originally planned. The third leg of the tournament will be conducted at the magnificent Coomealla golf course next Friday. Three hundred people are expected to attend the opening Cocktail Party at the Coomealla memorial Sporting Club on Sunday night.

Entries for the 2012 20th Sunraysia Golf Tours Tri-State Masters officially close on Friday April 13. So far entries have been received from 79 golf clubs with 74 new players stepping out in the Tri-State Masters event this year. There are still 18 spots left in the field for anyone who has been tossing up whether to play. Everyone will be made most welcome, sometimes it feels more like a reunion on the Opening Cocktail night than an official function and we like it that way. Whilst it is a competition, it is the social side of the week and the comaraderie that is built up within the group that really makes us feel that we have created something very special. Mildura Pacing Cup Golf Day Owners, trainer, drivers and trotting followers will congregate at Riverside Golf Club on Friday April 13 for the Annual Mildura Pacing Cup golf day. This was a great event last year. The event is an medley ambrose in 4's and provides an excellent opportunity to rub shoulders with the harness racing's golfing enthusiasts and relax before Saturday night's big meeting. Registration at Riverside Golf Club at 8-30am for a 9am start. Cost is @30 per player which includes a competitor gift pack, 18 holes, BBQ lunch and great trophies. With seven weeks until the closing date for the 20th Sunraysia Golf Tours Tri-State Masters it is certain that the field will be full well before the closing date of April 7. At this time the afternoon shotgun start is 70% full and the morning start is 60% full. The tournament has obviously grabbed the attention of Australia's mid range club golfers with B and C grade players very well represented. As in past years A grade will be the smallest grade with only 8% of the field so far on single figure handicaps. Whilst the daily events and five 54 hole sections are stableford the scratch championship and over 50 scratch championships for both men and women are off the stick. Coomealla's Sue Laird has won the last four championships averaging 78's. There have been eight different winners in the mens championship.

Entries have been received from golfers representing 31 different golf clubs in the first ten days since the entry forms have been released. Unfortunately it appears that some players who traditionally leave entering to the last minute will miss out this year. We have been blown away with the interest shown already and each day new players are popping up from golf clubs we didn't know existed. It really is an exciting time for us. The entry forms for the 2012 20th Annual Sunraysia Golf Tours Tri-State Masters are now completed and will be send to people on the Sunraysia Golf Tours data base on Monday 16th January. Over $200,000 worth of door prizes, competition prizes and Hole in One prizes will be on offer. An Adventure Houseboat holiday for up to eight people will drawn for the lucky door prize winner. There are stay and play packages to great golf resorts such as the Barwon Heads Golf Club, Tocumwal Golf Club and the Country Club Tasmania casino in Launceston and the Mildura Golf club Resort.Quest Apartments Mildura are partnering with us again and will provide a six night holiday in Mildura for four people for the 2013 Tri-State Masters. Bridgestone Golf has been the official golf brand of the tournament since its inception in 1993 and are great supporters again this year. Local media outlets PRIME Television and Sunraysia Daily newspaper are also strong sponsors and supporters of the Tri-State Masters. The Hole in One prizes are without doubt the best ever offered in an Australian amateur golf tournament,due to the changes in the amateur rules by the R & A on January 1st. Three Honda Jazzz motor vehicles from Auto Synergy Mildura, $10,000 worth of electrical equipment from Jack Abell Mildura, $10,000 worth of floor coverings from Choices Max Miller Mildura, $10,000 spa from Cookes Pools & Spas Mildura, $10,000 worth of furniture from Tilley's Furniture Mildura, a Yamaha motorised buggy, $10,000 cash from Hotondo Homes Mildura, $10,000 cash from the Vines Retirement Village Mildura and $10,000 cash from Murray River Salt add up to $130,000 worth of Hole in One prizes! Then there is the competition prizes from House of Golf Mildura, Bridgestone Golf and Champion Sports including Bushnell rangefinders and Yes putters. $100,000 worth of Hole in One prizes will now be on offer on the 11 par 3's in the 20th Tri-State Masters next May at Mildura Golf Club, Riverside Golf Club and Coomealla Golf Club. $50,000 in door prizes and competition trophies will also be presented to the lucky door prize winners and winners of the 14 sections. Unlike out 10th anniversary year, we will only be playing one course each day, as such we anticipate being booked out well before the entry closing date of April 14. Two exclusive 20th Anniversary Tri-State Masters Trentham Estate Winery wines will be available to all players in the tournament including an excellent Shiraz and a delightful Chardonnay blended by master Trentham Estate winemaker Anthony Murphy.

Great news about Hole in One prizes being opened up for amateur tournaments. In the 2012 20th Sunrayssia Golf Tours Tri-State Masters we will be offering a Honda Jazz from Auto Synergy Mildura on the par 3 6th at Mildura Golf Club Resort, par 3 18th at Riverside Golf Club and the par 3 18th at Coomealla Golf Club. The 19th Sunraysia Golf Tours Tri-State Masters was a great success. 140 players from 56 golf clubs was idea and a perfect lead in to our big 20th anniverary tournament next year. Plans are already in motion for our best ever Tri-State Masters. It won't be our biggest Tri-State Masters in numbers but we expect to attract around 250 people to play in the event. Our plan is to give away more than $40,000 in prizes and trophies. The tournament will begin on Sunday May 20 and conclude on Friday May 25. Venues and social functions will be announced at a later date. Let us know if you wish to be included on our mailing list.

Registration for the 2011 Sunraysia Golf Tours Tri-State Masters will be conducted at the Sunraysia Golf Range from 12-00 till 4pm this Sunday May 15.

Entries have been coming in from all over Australia for this year's Tri-State Masters. So far many have been from first time golfers and most have been husband and wife combinations. The decision to drop the South Australian leg of the Tri-State Masters looks to be a popular one with many of our past players. We have received emails from people who haven't played in the tournament in recent years, indicating that they are looking forward to coming back this year. Whilst the three State concept was quite unique we feel we will still be playing in three States - Victoria, New South Wales and a NEW STATE OF MIND. We hope you agree with the change.
